Go Social with Beer Apps On Your Smart Phone

We found some great beer applications for your smart phone that we thought we should pass on to our readers.

The top rated by Ugly Rugger is called Untapped. It is a social network made just for beer drinkers. You can add the beers your drink, rate them, search for new beers, and more. It is also a great way to see what and where people are drinking beer in your area (Whats happening in the pub). Get ready to drink socially with this app. Our brewer is on it so make sure to add him when you become a member.

Ugly Rugger- making the dream a reality

Every morning I wake up from the same dream, officially owning my own Brewpub.
It is so frustrating to learn about all the obstacles constantly being placed in front of our goal.  We will do it. I will own a brew pub where everyone is welcome and a fun time is had by all. Our brew-master is working on further educating himself on the skill of brewing perfect craft beer. Our business proposal is outlined at 70 pages and we have done over 100 surveys, interviews with dentonites… so what’s next you say? Money… we need money… Legislation… Texas is like that old Grandma that still thinks drinking of any kind is bad…. And a location….
As for now I guess the dream will continue, which is all that really matters. As long as we move forward, someday we will finally be happy and my dream will be fulfilled… until then it’s more long nights researching and writing… more tests batches… more R & D.... and more tastings. (:

Ugly Rugger brewer shaves head for facebook likes

Ugly Rugger brewer shaved his head tonight because the Ugly Rugger fan page reached 110 likes. Ugly Rugger feels more support than ever and is very excited about the future of the company.

Derrick Rima, brewer and co-founder
I have always been a big fan of the show Three Sheets and followed them for a whole season. Then I found out Zane Lamprey had another show that showcased different bars and breweries around the nation. Zane's partner in crime was not very good at most of the six-pack challenges, but had some advanced drinking talent I hadn't seen since Germany.  I loved the joy Steve McKenna got after downing a draft of craft beer because he was "thirsty". I know many of our fans enjoy drinking and must enjoy watching drinking shows almost as much as I do. This is one way that I can show my dedication to not only our future company but our future patrons. If it wasn't for our supporters then I would have never cut my hair like this. We look forward to the same support when our brewery opens.

In the beginning...

Dear followers,
We have hit our first milestone and we have shown that we can make it out there in the scary world of reality. Starting out not knowing a thing about the craft beer business, 2 months later we feel like experts. We had great feedback from our first two tastings, with our hef. and IPA favorites among all. The second tasting went very well and the vendor wants us back for her house warming party! What was once a dream for Derrick and I is slowly becoming more feasible. It's still terrifying to take a passion and try to turn it into a way to put food on the table and a roof over our heads. But, we are told that you can "taste the passion" behind our beer in our beer. More updates to come... if you want more information now check us out on facebook at ugly rugger brewing or twitter @UglyRugger.
